My special place is a place where I basically spend my life at 24/7. You’ll see me here walking around, playing a game, watching, or just coming for some peace. 1 It’s not a place that most people would go for peace, but I wouldn’t want to go, play, watch, or, just hang out anywhere else. This place I have spent the ups and the downs of my soccer life as a kid, and now a teenager. I have triumphed over the competition, but I have also been trampled upon by the opponent. This place I have spent time and a lot of money on. This place I have made friends. this place I have made enemies. This place makes me shiver whenever I smell the turf killing feet like dipping my feet in Boiling water.
1 My special place is called the East Cobb soccer complex right across from Lakeview High School in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. This place is very large. 1 It consists of eight soccer fields that stretch as far as the eye can see, it is amazing, the soccer fields are in two rows with a walkway in between the fields. Once you have hit the first two levels of fields you think that you are done, but you still have one more level to go and by the time that you get to that level then your legs will be shaking because you had to walk so far. Each field has a nice and soft turf pitch with a smooth surface like a clean smooth fabric, the surrendering has netted in the background so no one can get hit in the face by random balls. The nets are as large as giants without the legs or arms or the faces.
1 The first time I came to East Cobb was when my brother played here. My brother Mike, 11 at the time was playing under my dad. At first, I was amazed at how large it was. 1 Every time I went there from that point on I had a dream to play there someday. When my first tryout for an East Cobb team came I was more than nervous, I had a whole bunch of butterflies in my stomach because I knew that they would take nothing less than perfect. All throughout the tryout I had this feeling that something was going to go wrong, but I swallowed my tongue and went out there and had a great tryout ended up making the Huskies club team.
This year I play for a team coached by my dad still out of east Cobb but not the Huskies. 1 Every time I go to practice I get this feeling in my stomach like I’m am about to throw up because my new coach likes to run a lot and I ‘m not a big fan of the running. Also, all we have been doing lately is running because we couldn’t get on the pitch because it has been cold or kind of rainy, so all we have been doing is hitting in the practice fields, doing the same thing over and over and over and over again. So, every time we go to practice, I feel bored, because I have been practicing so much. and now I all I want to do is go to sleep in practice, because of my broadness.
Next, as a player playing in my dream place is a feeling like no other. Every night I dream I dream about the place. The turf and how dark green the field is, almost as like a green forest color to it. The nets made of a square. The lines are painted freshly with a bright white on the field, the benches are old as ever. Like an antique statue from a foreign country. East Cobb is a place I love without a doubt. It will always stick to my heart because of how special it is to me. Every time I practice or play I put my heart on the line, every time I play on the Eastside cobb field. It’s been there all my life, so I must give it everything I have. I put so much emotion on the field. If I don’t give my 110% percent, then I have failed my objective as a player, and as a person, because of how this place is to me.
1 When I think about playing a game I always get this shivering feeling because my season hasn’t started yet, so I can’t wait to play a game, even if we lose badly then I will still be satisfied with just playing the game. Our first game is about two weeks away, we are playing the sandy plains wildcats, the first time that I step out onto the field I will be jumping for joy because it has been a long time since I had played a baseball game. That is why East Cobb is my special place.
