As stated earlier

As stated earlier, the purpose of the litera ture review is to help the researcher to develop a good problem statement. A review of the literature identifies a.nd highlights the important variables, and documents the significant findings from earlier research that will serve as the foundation on which the. theoretical framework for the current investigation can be built. Documenting theliterature review is important to convince the reader that (1) the researcher is knowledgeable about the problem area and has done the preliminary homework that is necessary to conduct the research, and (2) the theoretical framework will be stn1ctured on work already done and wilJ add to the solid fow1dation of existing knowledge.
A point to note istha t the literature survey should bring together allrelevant information in a cogent and logica 1 manner instead of presenting all the studies in chronological order with bitsand pieces of uncoordinated information .A good literaturereview also leads one logically to a good problem statement.
