Anyone who has spent time with friends will notice that each one has a unique personality of their own. Friends, have different traits that shape their personality. A sense of humor, great advice, and honesty are all things that come to mind when you think about a friend. They are important to have because they are like a backbone when things get tough in life and are always there to love and support. There are three major types of friends, which are acquaintances, social friends, and bestfriends.

The first type of friend is simply an acquaintance, meaning that you basically only know their name and not remember how they look like. You usually meet these types of friends in places of the daily life like school or work. An acquaintance can remain a personal or business contact for you or can become a friend at some point. It really depends on the relationship and the people involved. You may have some acquaintances you see over and over throughout your life that you never really get to know. However, they are still good people to know because they can connect you to potential friends. This group includes people who talks out of awkward obligation.A person often speaks to this out of necessity or boredom. For example when a person is alone in the bus they have nothing to do so suddenly decides to make conversation about something that connects with the other person. This sect of friends does not evolve past a random encounter or conversation. Acquaintances includes people who one exploits for their own personal gain.

The second category of friends is a social partner. You often meet at social occasions, or one who may accompany you to social gatherings, but with whom you don’t have a personal relationship. This is because that are closer than acquaintances, but nowhere near as close as a true friend. Social partners start out as acquaintances who evolve into “guest friends” through an increased extracurricular activities. You know their name, a little of what they like and dislike and usually have several things in common. So you have somewhat of a connection with them but also have the boundaries that stay between just a friend and a best friend.

The last type of friend is the ” best friends”. Normally you have known them the longest and you probably grew up with them. They know everything about you just as you know them as well. They are basically family and you will always have eachothers backs no matter what. THese types of friends are always great to have because it’s good to be able to count on someone that won’t break your trust and be able to kept your secrets. In today’s generations it’s hard to find someone like a true, loyal best friend because somehow everyone will be fake and lie to you. I’m not saying you can’t find them i’m just saying if you do your are lucky to have a relationship like that.

In conclusion; we always meet people and classify them in terms of their personalities. We will always encounter different types of friends in our everyday life and it will be up to us how far we will want to take that relationship.
